The Residents of Block B have noticed that CCTV's have been installed at Blocks A and C but WHERE ARE THE CCTV'S FOR BLOCK B ???

Most of us will WITHHOLD payment for our monthly maintenance fees until we see the CCTV at Block B installed and WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY LATE PAYMENT CHARGES !

We tried our best and we're sorry to disappoint all residents who did not favour the exit button. It's sad that silly decisions like these are made everyday, all over the world. It becomes most frustrating when it happens right at our doorstep - Armanee ! To add insult to injury, stupid excuses were given to justify why the exit button must be reinstated and a majority vote was simply ignored ! Are we part of a communist regime here ? Where has democracy gone ?

William and Syah was present at the JMC and voted NO. I had to be at KLIA on work so I could not attend but still, I voted NO in the paper survey.

So why have we been ignored ? Why does our votes not count ?

Too many questions, so where are our answers ? ....Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer.......you owe all of us an explanation !

P/S : It's possible that the next one removed could be Mr. Chan ! Past JMC meetings have shown that other JMC members show little favour towards Mr. Chan. They say he's not necessary, expensive and humans are better than dogs ! What about our peace of mind ? Does that count at all ?

NO Push Button...What Happens If...

Many residents are concerned that if we do remove the push button, they may be trapped inside in case of an emergency.

That's not true and it won't happen because.....

If you have noticed, there's an "emergency break glass" installed beside all the access card readers inside the residential blocks. In the event of an emergency, all one has to do is break the glass and it will override the magnetic door lock. This means that the doors will be released and the doors will be open. This is a safety feature installed to ensure residents safety.

Please do not be lazy and hope to use the access cards as little as possible. This will never benefit you or your family. It can offer you nothing except to compromise your security and the security of your home and loved ones.

Have you realized that without the exit button, thieves will also find it harder to exit with their stash ?

Button or NO Button

Some of you may have noticed that there is a push button at our block. This push button enables the person to just push the button to exit the block.

There have been mixed feelings on this issue. Some like it and some don't. The button also serves as a reminder to residents if they have forgotten their access cards and if they have left it at home. If everyone uses this, then the system record at PMO will only show residents coming IN and never going OUT. Why ? Because the push button does not record anything at all !

"Don't leave home without your access card"

Mr. Chan

Many of you would know by now that we have secured the services of a guard dog and handler for Armanee. He's a trained German Shepherd and I call him Mr. Chan (as in Jackie Chan !). He's fearless and smart. Mr. Chan and his Handler patrol the perimeter and carparks daily from 8pm to 8am.

Tell how what you think and how you feel...do you feel that Armanee is now safer with Mr. Chan's presence ? Do you think that it's a useless deal and a waste of money ? Are you afraid to run into Mr. Chan ?

The day we've all waited so long for is finally here. Effective today, the access card system at Armanee is operational !

Please note that EFFECTIVE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2011 all residents will be required to use their access cards in order to enter Armanee and to enter the residential blocks.

Residents who do not have their access cards and visitors will be required to register at the guardhouse and at the security desk at all residential blocks.

If you do not wish to suffer the inconvenience of having to register each time you enter and exit Armanee, PLEASE GET YOUR ACCESS CARDS FROM PMO BEFORE THE IMPLEMENTATION DATE. REMEMBER...IT'S MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2011.

We hope that all residents will cooperate.

We are implementing this so that all residents remain safe from intruders at all times. Other security measures will be implemented from time to time in our continued effort to improve security for Armanee.

To enhance our security, the access card system is now programmed for "ANTI PASSBACK". This means that if you have entered Armanee, you will not be able to pass your access card to your friend/visitor behind to enter. Likeswise for exiting Armanee. It works on an "IN-OUT" system. If you use your access card to enter, the next time you use your access card again, you can only use it to exit.

Please also note that the Management Office will be extending its operation hours to allow residents to apply for their access cards. The extended operation hours are as follows:-

November 11 (Friday) : From 5.00pm to 10.00pm

November 12 (Saturday : From 1.00pm to 5.00pm

Blackout @ Block B

The blackout resulting from the main water tank overflow continues but we hope that electricity supply and Astro services will be restored soon. Rest assured, everything possible is being done but we need to ensure that all electrical fittings are completely dry before the maintenance staff can attempt to power up.

As a general update, the flooding could not be prevented as the faulty equipment (water level sensor if I am not mistaken) could not be detected until the incident. It was completely unforeseen.

For those residents who had to deal with spoilt food, we are truly sorry and can only hope that we never have to deal with such similar incidents again.

I take this opportunity to wish all our Muslim residents, their families and friends a belated SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDIL ADHA. May all our lives be filled with kindness, compassion and forgiveness and let's not forget the less fortunate people in this world.

New Security Company

We are pleased to inform you that a new security company, Sebiro Security Services Sdn Bhd has been appointed to Armanee effective 8.00pm on November 5th, 2011.

The deployment of security guards as as follows :-

Day Shift
8 security guards
1 security officer

Night Shift
6 security guards
1 security officer
1 guard dog
1 dog handler

You would have noticed that the number of security guards at the residential blocks have been reduced to 1 each. This is because 1 guard has been dedicated to patrolling all 3 blocks rather than having 1 guard at each block doing the same work.

A guard dog and handler has been added to our security enhancement exercise to patrol the perimeter and carparks. The dog will be handled by a dog handler at all times, is completely safe and the dog will not be let loose at any time. The dog is housed in a kennel at the parking lot below the tennis court and will be on continuous duty everyday from 8.00pm to 8.00am. The dog is also a deterrent to those who think that they can use Armanee as a "short cut". If you do hear the dog barking, it's because he senses something out of the ordinary and is alerting whoever is closeby. Do not be alarmed please.

We would very much like to hear your comments about this enhanced security and the security services in general.

We'd also like to inform residents that the new security company will take about a month (or slightly more) to stabilize. Guards will be rotating and changed as necessary until be are satisfied with the security guards deployed to Armanee.

Meanwhile, we ask for your patience, understanding, cooperation and feedback.

An Accident Waiting To Happen !

If residents refuse to obey the traffic flow within Armanee, this is what will surely happen ! Do we want this to happen ? This morning, at about 6am, a white Honda Civic was seen coming up the carpark ramp; the very same ramp that is used by residents to drive DOWN from L2 to L3 to exit the carpark. Such a careless attitude can cause injury and the damage of property. Is it so much to ask that this careless and negligent resident NOT assume anything ! The driver wasn't even paying attention that another car was about to drive DOWN that very same ramp that he was wrongly using !

To the careless driver concerned, if you are reading this post, be ashamed of yourself, your attitude and your behaviour. You may not value your own safety and life, but do not jeapordize the safety and lives of other residents.

NO FIRECRACKERS & FIREWORKS PLEASE !

Firecrackers and fireworks are both EXTREMELY DANGEROUS especially in Armanee where the wind is so strong. You just can't tell where it's going to end up and may cause a fire ! Worse still...you or your neighbours could end up losing their lives and their homes !

Last night, close to midnight, AURA received a complaint that a resident saw fireworks being set off from the top floor of Block C ! What if it had been blown backward into a resident's home....have you ever thought that it could happen ?

AURA asks that we all consider the safety aspects before partaking in such a selfish and inconsiderate act.

UPDATE - Access Card

Please bear with us......As most of you already know, our access card system was recently commissioned with the requisite lightning and surge protectors. However, a day later there was a rather violent storm and the equipment was damaged by a direct lightning hit.

There is a delay in the re-commissioning of the system as management is investigating how we may further protect the system. We understand that we need a long term solution considering that we are on high ground, very exposed and our storms could be somewhat violent.

Again, please bear with us. Management is trying their best to resolve the issue and at present awaiting technical reports on the matter.

Sauna Rooms @ Clubhouse

We are pleased to inform you that the Sauna Rooms located at the Clubhouse are now OPEN to all residents again.

The Saunas were closed for maintenance for a period of time to facilitate repairs caused by termites.

The Saunas are now as good as new; perhaps better and has been treated against further termite infestation.

Incident at Block A

Yesterday was another sad day for Armanee Condominium. At about 7.30am, AURA received an alert from PMO that someone had fallen from Block A and died. Indeed, it was shocking and unexpected news but it happens. We read about it all the time in the local media. Here's the story but please be reminded that for now, it's only speculation as none of us were present as the time of the incident and what is told may only be one's best guess. We also ask that you understand that for privacy reasons, we will not be mentioning any unit numbers.

Whether both these incidents are related is for the police to conclude......

On Monday evening, the tenant (whom we shall refer to as "A") reported to PMO that his car tyres had been slashed and that there was also some other damage to his car. PMO staff advised him to lodge a police report. A did as advised and the police came and attended to the complaint as expected. Sometime early yesterday morning, a visitor registered at the Guardhouse and with the guard at the block to visit A. Nothing was amiss, all registrations were in order and the visitor was admitted. How the police came to knock on A's door is still vague. It could have been that the noise from within the unit prompted the neighbour to contact security or the police directly. Anyhow, the police came and when the visitor saw that it was the police, may have tried to escape through the balcony, slipped and fell. It may have been foul play but who really knows what happened ? Was the decreased pushed or did he slip and fall ? There were only 2 persons who really knows what happened and one of them is deceased.

The deceased was A's visitor. It was not a burglar who slipped and fell.

Whether it's a felony or an accident, let us not speculate and allow the police to conduct their investigation.

Though the barrier gate was malfunctioning at the time of the incident, the security guard at the Guardhouse took all necessary precautions to control the cars and leaving entering Armanee. The PMO and police has so far confirmed that A's visitor had registered at both the Guardhouse and at the block's security desk.

Let us assure you that security protocol was in compliance before and during the incident. To the security guards on duty at the Guardhouse and at the block....well done and thank you.

Drive With Headlights ON

Please remember to turn on your headlights whenever driving in the carpark. While our carpark is brightly lit, your car is more easily noticeable when your headlights are turned on. We had a report that a car has been seen driving against traffic in the carpark. Just this morning, there was a report that a car was seen driving up the ramp to L2; the ramp that is used to drive down and exit the carpark. The car was a maroon-purple Proton Pesona. The car drove up the ramp used for going down and if the resident leaving the carpark had not turned on the headlights, a terrible accident may have happened.

Here is one of the many safety convex mirrors recently installed in our basement carpark. At least we are now able to see traffic that was previously blocked by the wall.

The extremely ugly broken doors at the guardhouse have also been replaced with very nice glass folding doors.

We hope that you like these new additions.

Meanwhile, AURA assures you that other important problems such as the access card system has not been forgotten. There are many issues that Management is tackling that residents are not able to see such as developer issues, defects, etc.

Astro Application Form

There will be questions raised as to why a sole Astro contractor was appointed and why residents would not have the option to engage their own contractors. LS Ang has done us a good deed. He has not only invested in the cables but he also claimed responsibility to maintain the Astro dishes for all blocks for a period of 2 years. All this for a small upfront fee of RM5,700. This fee alone is not sufficient to cover the cost of the cables. Note that we used the term "INVESTED" because that is what it is. He hopes that within this 2 year period (or longer), our residents will either apply or upgrade their present Astro account and they would be able to recover their initial investment and make some money. This is the risk they are taking and they are charging what any other Astro contractor would charge; nothing more and nothing less. And because he is responsible for maintaining the Astro dishes, we have agreed not to allow any other Astro contractor for the same installation as it is only fair that the responsibility lie with one party. Let us assure that that was no corruption involved.

REMINDER - ACCESS CARD

Residents are reminded to register for their ACCESS CARDS before 30 APRIL 2011. When the access card system is fully implemented in early May, residents who do not have their access cards will need to register at the guardhouse when entering Armanee. In addition, they have have difficulty entering the blocks.

Each access card will cost RM30 each. If you lost your card, a RM100 lost card penalty will be imposed UNLESS you are able to produce a police report as proof that your card was lost as a result of theft or robbery.

For residents who already have access cards, you will need to UPDATE your cards. If you fail to do this by 30 APRIL 2011, your access card will be deactivated. This is an exercise carried out by PMO as a security measure to ensure that there are NO active access card being held by non-residents/owners.

After 2011, all access cards will be valid from 1 January until 31 December every year; except for 2011 where the access cards will be valid from April until 31 December. This procedure has been implemented to ensure that tenant and owner information is updated annually and any changes are recorded within the year.

It has been a tedious process and PMO staff has been working hard to meet the deadlines.

CAR STICKER

The new car stickers are now available at the PMO for collection. Each unit will be given two (2) free car stickers on an exchange basis. This means that you will be given two (2) free stickers only if you produce your two (2) old car stickers when you make your application. Additional car sticker may be applied for up to a maximum of three (3) car stickers per unit and will cost RM5.00 per sticker per year. For replacement of lost car stickers, a penalty of RM50.00 will be imposed. Reminders are being placed on the car windscreen in stages beginning 14^th April 2011. All additional car stickers are given on a first-come-first-serve basis and is a TEMPORARY arrangement accorded to residents as Armanee can (at this time) still accommodate the additional number of cars. Please be reminded that this is only a temporary allowance and may be at any time revoked by the Management at their discretion.

QUARTERLY STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT

Effective April 2011, the JMC has agreed that in support of an environmentally friendly community, quarterly statements of account will be implemented. This is a community effort mainly to reduce the usage of paper. However, owners may still pay their maintenance charges on a monthly basis, due on the 15^th day of each month. Due to the delayed delivery of the April 2011 quarterly statements, late payment interest (LPI) for April 2011 will be waived. Owners are advised to check their statements and to immediately advise PMO staff of any discrepancies in their statement.

NOTICE

SECURITY ACCESS CARD

The long awaited security access card system is expected to be implemented by the end of April 2011. The access cards are available at PMO for registration and collection beginning 14^th April 2011 until 30^th April 2011. Each unit is provided with two (2) Master Access Cards free of charge. Supplementary access cards may be applied for to a maximum of three (3) cards per unit. Each additional supplementary access card and replacement of damaged access cards will cost RM30.00 each. For replacement of lost access cards, a penalty of RM100.00 will be imposed if a police report stating theft or robbery (relating to the loss of the access card) cannot be produced by the resident. UPDATE - Access Card

Everything was SET...all systems GO. The contractor's engineer was doing his final check and preparing for the handover of the system to us and then......

He walked into PMO and reported that there was a wiring problem. Don't misunderstand...testing showed that there was "breakage" in the wires. This means that connection was sometimes alright and sometimes not.

Hopefully the fault will be rectified and the system test can take place by the end of the week.

Please take note that when the system is being tested, the system will be activated and all the doors at the blocks will be closed. Residents who already have access cards can use their cards to enter. For those who still do not have access cards, the guards are available to open the doors for you. As soon as Management is confident that the system is reliable enough, PMO will issue a notice for residents to apply for their access cards.

Also note that :
* Existing cards will need to be updated. If this is not done, the access card will be deactivated and the resident will have to register at the guardhouse and at their block.

* All access cards will have a validity of one (1) year - from January to December, afterwhich residents must update their cards again.

* A resident will only have access to his/her block. The access card cannot be read at other block's card reader.

* Each unit is entitled to 2 Master Access Cards and may apply for up to 3 Supplementary Access Cards. Please refer to PMO for information on charges.

The new protocol will improve and enhance our present security system. If you have any suggestions, please fee free to let us know under "comments". Improvements may be made as and when necessary.

On Friday, March 18th, PMO informed that the carpark lifts have flooded again. PMO has been constantly checking the lifts to ensure that they are dry and safe for residents before signing off on the rectification work by Medan Prestasi. PMO is liaising with Medan Prestasi on the next course of action.

AURA has reminded the parties concerned that the breakdown has caused residents much inconvenience and will follow-up with updates.

This is an update that we've all been waiting for.....

Access Card

The lightning damaged controllers were taken away for evaluation early last week and the contractor is expected replace the new controllers early next week. Meanwhile, our property management office (PMO) staff have been working feverishly to code all the access cards into the system, ready for resident registration when the system is commissioned. There are over 1,000 cards to code and this is not an easy task. When the system is commissioned, all access cards will be valid for 1 calender year (January to December). All residents will have to have their cards updated annually. This is an inconvenience to residents and a tiresome job for the PMO staff but it has to be done to improve security for Armanee Condominium. In the past, there have been many cases where tenants leave and owners sell their units without handing over the access cards. This would mean that they will still have access as PMO is seldom aware of such transactions. With this new system in place, the information will be updated annually and access cards that are not returned by ex tenants and owners will be cancelled. Even with this enhanced security system in place, we urge owners to immediately inform the PMO of any change in their tenants.

Astro Byond
A contractor has been approved by the JMC for Astro Byond cabling for all residential blocks on a contractual basis. The contract will be for four (4) years and during this time, the contractor will maintain the Astro service in Armanee. This is applicable for both Astro Byond and Astro Standard. The work is expected to commence in early April and will take about 2 weeks to complete. Residents who wish to apply for Astro will have to engage the services of this contractor. Why ? Because this contractor is only charging the JMB a very small amount (RM5,700 in total) for the cabling work (of which other contractors have refused) and they will need some help in recovering their capital investment. For cabling to individual units, they are charging the standard rate approved and allowed by Astro. Bad news ? Well....Residents who have previously installed the dish for Astro Byond will have to remove them at their own cost. In addition to the cost to remove the dish, they will also need to bear the cost for the cabling from the riser to their unit. Please call PMO at 03-61417366 or 61417367 for more information.

Carpark Lifts
The leak at the carpark lifts have been identified and rectified. It has been raining rather consistently lately and further checks have shown no more leaks. PMO staff are conducting further checks to ensure residents safety. The carpark lifts are expected to be running again by the end of March.

Stray Dogs

Management informs that razor wires have been placed near Block C to block the little tunnels dug by the strays to get into Armanee. This has resulted in a decline in strays seen at our basement carparks. In addition, the security guards have been instructed to chase the strays away.

Registration at Guardhouse

Many residents have complained and the guards have been verbally abused and threatened but please remember that this registration protocol is enforced for our safety and security and that of our family, neighbours and property. Without doubt, it is inconvenient, time consuming and frustrating (not forgetting the long queue of cars) but it is something that we will need to bear with until the access card controllers are repaired/replaced.

As some of you may already know, our access card system controllers were damaged during a storm on February 5th. That was the day where all the lifts servicing Block B broke down and the entire block was almost plunged into darkness.

For now, please be patient and bear with us because everyone without an access card will be required to register when entering and leaving Armanee. There will be no exceptions. Please also be kind to the guards because they are here to protect us and to carry out their responsibilities accordingly. Please do not yell at them, scold them or shout at them.

Car Stolen Again !

While many will say that such information should not be posted but how else would residents be kept informed of such incidents ? If residents are treated like kids, they will remain like kids. Let's treat this as positive information so that residents may make an informed decision if they want to install additional security features in their cars.

The owner's car, a Honda CRV was last seen at L1 basement carpark at about 2pm on February 11th. The theft was only discovered on the morning on February 12th. Security was alerted but did not offer the owner any assistance. The security guard rather rudely asked the owner to make a police report and for her son to check the basement carpark. Isn't this the security staff's job ?

The JMC has called for an urgent meeting with management, the security company and the company installing our access card system in Armanee.

The loss is regretted and AURA sympathizes with the owner and will do as much as possible to assist.

AURA seeks your cooperation as we have been receiving complaints on the following :-

FOOTBALL - Kindly note that the former putting green was converted to a safe mini "playground" for children below 6 years old to play ball NOT football. Residents living in Block A are annoyed with the older children playing football here as they are extremely noisy. When the guards remind them to be quite, these children become arrogant and often rude. If your child is one of those using this facility for football, please be reminded that this facility was NOT converted for this sport. FOOTBALL IS NOT ALLOWED AT THE PUTTING GREEN !

BBQ - Last weekend, a resident from Block B complained that another resident was using the common corridor behind Block B (facing the water lily ponds) to BBQ. Please remember that this is a common walkway and that you are causing an inconvenience. And most important. IT IS NOT ALLOWED ! The next morning, the guard reported that the resident left charcoal bits and oil stains where the BBQ pit was. It is all about common sense and civic mindedness...either do it in your own home or rent the BBQ pit at the poolside. Do not cause others any inconvenience simply because it is convenient for you.

ROLLERBLADING - This is definitely NOT ALLOWED especially when it is done at the common corridors. These kids (in a group of about 6-7) will come up to the higher floor for such an activity thinking that its ok. Why ok ? Because they think that nobody minds, they think that accidents won't happen, they think that nobody's home and they know that their parents won't mind. Well....accidents do happen and WE DO MIND ! The sound of a group of rollerbladers is worse that a mighty clap of thunder ! Parents...have you ever thought that if an accident does happen, the other kids who are around would be too terrified to report it and the injured kid may be dead by the time help arrives ?

Stray Animals & Pets in Armanee

Since yesterday, AURA has received 4 complaints about the stray dogs and irresponsible pet owners. Earlier this year, management sought assistance from MBPJ regarding the stray dogs problem and a few of these strays were caught. Now they're back again. How do we stop them from entering Armanee ? Our premise is large and there are just too many ways that these strays can come into Armanee. Whenever a hole is closed up, they dig another ! We have issues with both stray cats and dogs. Whatever you do, please do not threaten any of these stray dogs when you see them. These dogs may feel a need to protect themselves and attack if they feel threatened. So please, no sticks nor stones. On the same subject, please do not feed the stray cats. They are multiplying in numbers fast and pooping and peeing all over the place especially at the poolside. The gardeners are also complaining because they have to clean up after these cats and its a messy and nasty job. So
remember, no feeding the stray cats please.
On a separate matter, a few residents have been complaining of the stench of kitty litter and doggy urine. We have been very lenient and tolerant with pet owners so far. This tolerance and leniency is based on the assumption that pet owners in Armanee are responsible and will now allow their pets to be an inconvenience to their neighbours. As a responsible pet owner, you must always ensure that your pet is clean all the time, vaccinated, quiet, trained and confined to your home (they are not allowed to roam the corridors). Your pet should never cause problems or be an inconvenience to your neighbours. When this happens, management will be forced to enlist the help of the relevant authorities and you may lose your pet permanently. So far, we have received complaints of pets being let lose at the common corridors, stench of cat litter & dog urine, puppies crying, dog barking and feeding of strays. Please do not allow your neighbours to live in discomfort. If you do not have the time to care for your pet, you should surrender your pert to a family member or friend who can.

Hi all....

Greetings from D' Ambience. Hope all of you are fine.

First of all, I would personally like to thank AURA team for your kind support on posting my previous menu. Your support is well appreciated by me and will do something to thank all of you in a better way in the near future. Very sorry about the ugly looking menu again as i tried some good art work but the file was a little too big to be converted, but...when thing's get better on my side, i will definitely post a better one.

Secondly, the western menu is still pending as the freezer in the kitchen is not working again. This matter has been brought up to the management since i started operation's 3 months ago but there seems to be no news about the repair works. Just 2 weeks before Deepavali it started working well and after the short holiday I came back to findout that the electricity supply for the cafe tripped. I went through some major losses due to spoilt supplies and more. Also, other repair works which are to be done in the cafe dining area, kitchen & the external surrounding area's aswell. Once that is done I will give a quotation to the management (As I was asked lately) for internal paint works and lighting

Up to date, as i have been giving out flyers on menu's and sending some text message's to residence on updates of D' Ambience, we have been getting good support from all residence. Business is slowly picking up and this will lead me to better ways of changing the enviroment. It's all for you guys who just want to relax and hangout at a nice...sorry...that'll be informed soon depending how i can work things out with the Cheston Management to deal with certain issues which has just been raised. :)

However, I have high confidence in making the cafe to be in a real CLUB HOUSE standard in the near future, as i have good feedback from most of the residence on food, portioning and pricing (Am not refering to the comments on the blogspot only). I've got 1 or 2 bad feedbacks too, and it has been dealt well with. I know i can do this but it will take sometime. IT's already my 3rd month operating, moving into my 4th month and i've 2 months to make this change. Slowly you will see those change's happening. That's if I get good support and understanding from certain parties.

They have just been removed from a familiar place and are now in a new home. They need a warm bed, nutritious food and a lot of tender loving care. These are things that many forget and have left many residents at their wits end. These little helpless creatures are very often left in the cold and alone and they cry and bark causing many of us to lose precious sleep and rest. To pet owners living in Armanee, please be considerate of your working neighbours and be a responsible pet owner. If you have just brought a little kitty or puppy home, please make sure that you have a warm and snug place that your new family addition can call a safe bed. When they're that young, they like human company (touch); just like a baby. If you know how to care for a baby, you'll know how to care for your pet. If you think that it's any different; you're wrong ! So please please please, if you can't be a responsible pet owner, please don't get a pet and let us have our PEACE. Break-In at Block B Level 12

Yesterday evening, the residents were at home, upstairs when the daughter heard a noise and alerted her mother. The owner went downstairs and saw a man dressed in a black t-shirt running out of his unit. The burglar made his escape through the stairs while the resident used the lift as it would be faster. It is suspected that the burglar entered through the kitchen but took a set of house keys, probably intending a "follow-up" visit. Anyway, the burglar was caught and taken into custody by the police. However...the burglar was released today on bail even though he is a suspect in a motorcycle theft. How frustrating is that ?

1. Combine flour, sugar, salt and yeast together in a mixer. Give it a mix before adding in the chilled milk. Beat for 3-5 minutes or till dough is formed (using the dough hook). Adding in milk gives bread a better flavor and softer texture.

2. Add in shortening, beat for 5-7 minutes or till dough is smooth and elastic to the touch. Do a stretch test to check if the dough is fully developed by stretching a small piece of dough with your fingers. If the dough can be stretched thinly without tearing, then it is good, if not, beat further and re-test again until it passes the next stretch test.

3. Leave dough in a big bowl, covered with damp cloth. Leave it in a warm place, let it rise till double in size, about 30-40 minutes.

4. Shape dough into a big ball. Rest for 10 minutes before shaping. Flatten the piece of dough and roll it up tightly like a swiss roll. Tuck the sides underneath for a neater look. Place in a lightly greased 11cm x 11cm x 22cm loaf tin. Uncover, proof for 45 minutes or until it reaches more than halfway up the sides, then cover it.

5. Bake in preheated oven at 210 degree Celsius for 30-35 minutes. Tap on the underside, the loaves should sound hollow. Cool well on a wire rack.

Remember: Do not slice the bread until it is fully cooled down. This recipe requires a 22 x 11 x 11 cm loaf tin.

Please RSVP by October 8th with the number of persons in your party and the type of food that you will be bringing. As usual, your contribution should be for about 5 to 10 persons depending on the number of persons in your party. You may also choose to bring more than one dish.

Access Card - UPDATE

This is something that we have all been waiting for a long, long time haven't we ? Unfortunately, there has been some significant delay due to faulty underground wiring/cabling. Our JMC and Management are on top of the issue and AURA will keep everyone informed on the progress.

For those of you whom are interested, stock for the access cards are still NOT available. If you are interested to get extra ones, please check again with the management office early next month.
